1913 Match Worn England Rugby Shirt In 1913 The Springboks led by the Morkel brothers became the first South African team to defeat Scotland, Ireland, Wales and finally England in a single tour. After the match this shirt was swapped with a member of the South Afican Team who later pasted it on to 1950's Springbok Doug Hopwood and this shirt was aquired from his Son.
The Shirt is made by Made by Geo Lewin who supplied the England Shirts and Caps up until the 1920's when Picadilly took over. In the early 1900's there were no numbers on the back of the shirt so it is not known which player wore this shirt but the number 861 has been penned into the neck of the shirt.
